Problems

The most common support inquiries concern authentication with SMTP Servers.

The Classic SMTP protocol is not equipped with any access protection. In order to secure their mail servers against unauthorized use, many administrators have set up one of the following alternatives:

You then usually receive the error message "We do not relay" when you send mails.

1.) Only certain senders/recipients e-mail addresses are authorized.
The sender address or the recipient address of an e-mail must belong to a particular domain. Sometimes only individual sender addresses are permitted as well.

Problems then arise when you try to use a sender address which is not known to the system: therefore, select an existing sender address.

2.) SMTP Authentication
The Extended SMTP Protocol (ESMTP) permits authentication. Select this option under "Extras->Options->Connection" when you receive corresponding specifications from your system administrator or Provider. (Usually the LogIn/Password is then identical with your POP3 LogIn)

3.) SMTP after POP
Before mails can be sent via SMTP, you must login at the POP3 mailbox. The IP address used thereby continues then to be enabled for a certain amount of time.

Select the corresponding item under "Extras->Options->Security" and configure your POP3 access data.

It can happen in the case of longer bulk mails that access becomes blocked again after a certain amount of time has elapsed. If this is the case, select "Interrupt Session", e.g. after every 50 Mails.
