Normalization Rules Editor

 

Select in main menu "Extras->Edit Normalization Rules".
This launches the Normalization Rules Editor.

Edit Normalization Rules

For each named format you can add a description, 3 different parent formats and an unlimited number of search/replacements.

The Description is only for documentation purposes and has no effect.

Inherits from: The current format will inherit all search/replace rules from the selected parent formats.

Search / Replace: Enter the search and the replace string. Enter en empty string, if the search string should be discarded.

If the current format includes Standard Normalization, your entry will be adjusted when entering the data.

Create new Format

Select New to create a new format. Check Requires Standard Normalization for all formats by default.

Standard Normalization will connvert the data to upperstring, replace special characters and umlauts, etc. This is normally required for any kind of address data.
